Frequently asked questions
The things homeowners ask us most, answered straight.
Do you have to remove my deck boards?
No. On an existing deck everything installs from below, under your joists. Your deck surface isn't touched.
How much does it cost?
Installed prices run about $33–$52 per square foot depending on deck size, with a $6,500 minimum. Larger decks cost less per square foot. The estimator shows your range in under a minute.
How long does installation take?
Most decks take 1–3 days. We can usually start within 2–4 weeks of your signed quote.
Will it leak?
It's built not to. We flash the house connection first, set every panel on a slope to the gutter, and hose-test the ceiling with you before we leave. If our work leaks, the workmanship warranty covers the fix.
Can it clog?
Fine debris washes through. Pine needles and spring seed pods can collect at the downspout, so on tree-heavy lots we fit a larger downspout and a cleanout. Panels also unclip if you ever need a deeper clean.
How much headroom will I lose?
Usually 3–5 inches below the bottom of your joists. We'll confirm the exact number for your deck in the quote.
Can I add lights, fans or heaters?
Yes. Star lights are installed flush in the ceiling, and we add waterproofed mounts for fans, surface lights and infrared heaters. A licensed electrician does the wiring.
Does it work on a deck that's still being built?
Yes. We coordinate with your builder and install once the framing and decking are done.
Do I need a permit?
It depends on your city. We'll tell you in your quote whether one is needed and take care of it if so.
Where do you work?
We serve the Denver metro and the Colorado Front Range, including Denver, Aurora, Lakewood, Littleton, Highlands Ranch, Parker, Castle Rock, Arvada, Westminster, Broomfield and Boulder.
